Dr. Cole  attended Kansas State University for his undergraduate training, and is a 1995 graduate from Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine. While in veterinary school he took extra coursework in exotic animal medicine, ultrasound imaging and aquaculture. 

After graduation he practiced in North Manchester, a town in northern Indiana.   His position as a general practitioner at a four doctor veterinary clinic allowed him to work on many species and explore many facets of veterinary medicine.   Although a consumate generalist, he developed an enthusiasm for canine dentistry and solving internal medicine mysteries, as well as providing care to the communities small ruminants and developing herd health programs for farmers raising young calves.   

In 2010 he jumped at the opportunity to buy Urbana Veterinary Clinic. 

His outside intersts include bicycling, hiking, canoeing, sailing, and martial arts.
