The spacious Urbana Veterinary Clinic Hospital
includes complete diagnostic and treatment facilities for small and large
animals. For small animals the hospital has three examination rooms, a
treatment complex, a surgery room and holding area with indoor dog runs. For
large animals there are two examination and treatment complexes with stalls,
chutes, headgates and milking equipment, and a surgery room with a hydraulic
table, non-skid floors and padded walls for the safety of the recovering
patients. There are also three box stalls with flush drains, three turnout
paddocks and two isolated stalls for animals which require
quarantine.
The hospital's treatment and surgery rooms
feature gas anesthesia, EKG and heartrate monitors, linear array and sector
scanning ultrasound equipment, a fiberoptiscope, high resolution x-ray machines
with rare earth screens, and a rapid x-ray film processor. The hospital has its
own generator for use in the event of a power failure.
For the care of both small and large animals, the Urbana
Veterinary Clinic hospital has a microbiology and chemistry lab equipped
for the performance of many routine tests and procedures. Because of
this lab the Clinic staff is less dependent on outside laboratory testing
services and is able to provide test results as quickly as possible.
Large animal laboratory services are provided at the OSU clinic in Marysville.
The hospital also features a well-stocked veterinary pharmacy for the
convenience of the Clinic staff and clients.
Due to the popularity and the large crowds that attend
our seminars, these meetings are held offsite. Our last seminar held
at Deer Creek Lodge was for an international group of dairymen and veterinarians
from Japan. It was highly successful with many presentations on current
dairy management issues as well as farm tours and presentations by university
and government officials
The original conference room is now an information resource
center for Dr. Sanders’ books, DVDs, CDs and TV production company,
Vaca Resources.
Since The Ohio State University Marysville clinic is
now our flagship, we offer many more services and increased versatility.
We have five veterinary mobile units on the road every weekday. These
trucks carry a broad range of equipment and supplies and enable the
Clinic staff to provide many diagnostic and treatment services on location
including x-ray, fiberoptiscope and ultrasound analysis and surgery.
All of the veterinary trucks have positive pressure ventilation systems
which keep equipment and supplies carried on the trucks free of dust.
They also feature heat and refrigeration to prevent freezing of medications
during the winter and provide safe transport for medicines, vaccines,
and tissue and serum samples which require refrigeration.
