Cattle Scour Protection

Products to be given to the cow.

Scourguard - An injection that is given to the cow at one month and again at two weeks before the birth date, then once a year 2 - 4 weeks before the birth date.
Cost for both injections ($4.50 - 5.50)
Works by increasing the quality of the colostrum
Help protect against E. coli, Rota virus, Corona virus and Clostridium perfringens type C.

Products to be given to the calf.

First Defense - Capsule given to the calf with in the first 12 hours of birth.
Cost ($6.00 - 7.00 / calf)
Works by given the calf antibodies against E. coli and corona virus.

Calf Guard - 3 ml dose is given in the back of the calf's mouth as soon after birth as possible.
Cost ($2.00 - 2.50 / calf)
Helps to prevent scours caused by Rota and corona virus.
Works by causing the calf to produce antibodies against Rota and corona virus.

Bovine ecolizer or Genocal 99 - Given orally within the first 12 hours of birth.
Cost ($7.00 - 8.00 / calf)
Helps to prevent scours that are caused by E. coli.
Works by causing the calf to produce antibodies to E. coli.
